Who we Are
Welcome to TechNet1, the flagship domain for the technical division of DataSys - TechNet1 Global Consortium. From this web site, you will find links to our many domains and ongoing projects conducted by the staff and associates of our organization.
Our group consists of a segmented global network with servers located in several countries throughout all hemispheres and joined by communication services which provide the means for sharing ideas and enabling the members to collaborate on experimental works as well as provide support to those engaged in private contractual agreements.
Our IRC Network
The TechNet1 IRC NetWork is a project of DataSys - TechNet1 Global On-Line Consortium. At the present time we are maintaining and running IRC servers with main hub servers located in Norway, Canada and the United States. All the servers are running IRCD-Hybrid on GNU/Linux, FreeBSD and OpenBSD boxes. We are also running the Anope set of IRC Services.
The IRC servers linked extend from Central Europe and Scandinavia to Canada and to South America and have users from over 26 different countries.
To connect to one of our servers you can type
/server irc.technet1.org
That will connect you to us.
To join us in our channels you type
/join #yourchannelchoice
/join #sunriser
On this network, which by design is more or less a private one, we feel we can boast of a courteous and friendly staff. Here you can message one of the server operators, known as IRCops, and normally receive a prompt reply. We open the servers to provide a service for friends and associates of those on our staff.
In addition, we welcome other users to the network as long as they cooperate in adhering to our policies and are considerate and polite to all. Please read our MOTD at the end of this document for the policy governing the use of our servers. We reserve the right to take all effective means to limit or prohibit the connection from anyone who fails to adhere to the terms and conditions of the policy. Remember, you are a guest on our network and should exercise mature judgment and courtesy to others the same as you would if you were visiting in someone's home.
We have found that the overwhelming majority of those coming here agree with our sentiments and present no problems, and for this, we are very pleased. #sunriser is the primary channel, but we also have other channels.
We now provide Channel Services that allow registration of a channel and the ability to maintain a static database of users. We feel we offer a very stable service environment and will continue to do so to the best of our ability.
We have lately introduced a new web IRC client accessible from most browsers for your convenience. We hope your visit here will indeed be a pleasant one.
